Terms of service

  • Last updated October 30, 2026

Handywright is business software for home-service trades. These terms cover the business that signs up and the people who use its customer pages.

Handywright is operated by The Plain Works Co., Ltd. ("Handywright," "we," "us"). Questions: hello@handywright.com.

1.Who these terms are with

The business that creates a Handywright workspace (the "Business") is our customer. Its own customers, who open a quote, invoice, receipt or visit link, are not our customers: they deal with the Business, and we provide the page.

You must be at least 18 and able to bind the Business to use the office app. The service is offered to businesses in the United States.

2.What the service does

Handywright keeps customers, jobs, quotes, invoices and payments in one record and lets the Business send customers a link to approve a quote, pay an invoice, get a receipt, or confirm a visit. We may change features with reasonable notice. We do not provide legal, tax or accounting advice.

3.Plan, billing and refunds

Handywright is $39/month. That is $39 a month for up to 10 people with 30 AI conversations a month: one flat monthly subscription, billed through Paddle as merchant of record. Deposits and invoice payments from your customers go to your own Stripe account, and we add no fee on them. Quotes and invoices carry no extra charge. The first month is free: the subscription starts with a 30-day trial, your card is taken up front and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. The subscription renews each month until cancelled.

Paddle is the seller. The Handywright subscription is sold by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its affiliates) as merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, payment methods, sales tax, invoices, fraud checks, chargebacks and approved refunds under its buyer terms and refund policy. The checkout names the Paddle entity that sells to you, and Paddle calculates the taxes.

  • To cancel, open Settings > Account in the app and choose Cancel plan (or write to hello@handywright.com). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month: access continues until then and the plan does not renew. Cancelling does not delete your data.
  • Payments are generally not refundable once a paid month has started, including renewals and unused time.
  • We or Paddle may approve a refund for a duplicate charge, a billing error, access that was paid for but never activated, or a documented serious service failure that we cannot reasonably fix. To ask, write to hello@handywright.com with the account email and the Paddle receipt reference.
  • Paddle’s buyer protections and any right your law gives you cannot be waived and apply as the law requires.

Card and bank payments go to your own Stripe account at Stripe's published rate; Handywright adds nothing. Payments from your customers go straight to your own Stripe account; Handywright never holds them and takes no cut. Stripe’s published US rates (stripe.com/pricing) are 2.9% + 30¢ per card payment and 0.8% (max $5) per bank payment, charged by Stripe to your own Stripe account. Details are in the payment terms. We will give notice by email or in the app before a subscription price change takes effect for your next renewal.

4.Your customers and your content

You own the customer, job and pricing information you enter. You give us the right to host, process and display it to run the service, including showing it to the customer it concerns through their link. You are responsible for the accuracy of your quotes and invoices, for taxes, licences and permits for your work, and for having the right to contact your customers.

You are responsible for text messages you send through Handywright following the SMS terms: only message people who agreed to get them, and honour STOP.

5.Customer links

Quote, invoice, receipt and visit links are private to whoever holds them. Anyone with the link can see that page and act on it, so share it only with the customer. A customer who approves a quote and signs with their name and a drawn or typed signature is bound to the Business as that signature is, not to us.

Electronic signatures and records (ESIGN and UETA). By signing a quote in the app or on a customer link, the signer agrees to do business electronically, that the electronic signature has the same effect as a handwritten one, and that quotes, invoices and receipts may be delivered and kept electronically. The signer can ask the Business for a paper copy, and can withdraw consent to electronic records by telling the Business before signing.

6.Acceptable use

  • No unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive use, including charging for work that was not agreed.
  • No attempts to break, probe or overload the service, or to reach another business’s data.
  • No sending of spam or unwanted messages.

We may suspend a workspace that puts customers, payments or the service at risk. We will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it when we can; if we end your access without cause, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the unused period.

7.Ownership, indemnity and copyright

We own the Handywright software, design and marks; you get a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service while your workspace is open. You are responsible for claims by third parties that arise from your deliberate unlawful use of the service or from content you enter that you had no right to use, except to the extent we caused them. To report content that infringes copyright, write to the contact below with the page and what is infringed.

8.Warranty and liability

The service is provided as is, without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or disputes between a Business and its customers. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it and US$100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Where we handle your customers’ personal information for you, we do so only on your instructions, as described in the privacy policy.

9.Ending and changes

You can close your workspace at any time. First export your data: in Settings > Account, choose Export everything to download customers, jobs, quotes, invoices and payments as CSV files. To delete the workspace, go to Settings > Account > Delete your account, type DELETE and confirm. The deletion is scheduled 30 days later; until then you can still sign in and export, and we build an export for you when you delete. Cancelling a subscription alone does not delete data.

We may update these terms; a material change takes effect after notice by email or in the app, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept it.

10.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without displacing any mandatory law that applies where you are located. Disputes may be brought in a court with jurisdiction under applicable law; nothing here requires arbitration or waives a right to bring a claim as permitted by law. For a business customer, the parties will first try in good faith to resolve a dispute by email.
